Before diving into digital history, I spent two semesters as an integral part of the Burling Digital Studio team tackling a mix of web development and physical tech. I built and maintained the official studio website to ensure it stayed functional, current, and user-friendly for the campus community. Alongside web development, I finished demonstration prints to showcase the full potential of the technology and inspire visitors – including the Hollow Knight Needle.
Now, working as a Vivero Fellow under Professor Shigeta-Schimmel, I am bridging the gap between 19th-century history and modern digital design for this upcoming web project. The site explores the diverse socio-economic backgrounds and global political impact of Grinnell’s first seven Japanese students. As the project’s developer, I am responsible for building the digital infrastructure and mapping out interactive timelines.
